Full description

A3 format printing of sublimation sheets.
Ideal for those who want to print on mugs, covers, other supports but do not have the equipment to print sublimation sheets.

Do you have to print on A3 sublimation sheets and you don’t have the right printer?

In just 48 hours we will provide you with the sublimation sheets with your print, ready to be transferred with the heat press.

How to do:
– Choose the number of sheets you want to print
– You can also send us 1 different decoration (design, graphics) for each sheet (in this case, specify by email the quantity of sheets for each graphic file)
– You can also send us multiple graphics in the same sheet
– Remember to send us the file already mirrored and with any masks set
– Send us the file at the end of the order via we transfer or via email a info@cplfabbrika.com

Important information on colour:
In sublimation printing, colour fidelity is not 100% guaranteed.
The following steps are useful to obtain a result that matches as closely as possible.

Files must be sent in CMYK, not RGB.
These files are intended for printing.
It is very important that the files are in CMYK to obtain the desired colour match, if we receive the files in RGB we have to convert it to CMYK and the colours will vary.

When receiving printed sheets, please consider that:
– the print you receive will have more faded colours than those you see on the monitor.
– You will only be able to assess the real quality of the colour after it has been applied to the medium (mugs, covers, T-shirts, etc.).
You will not be able to evaluate it from the sublimation sheet.

CPL Fabbrika prints your files with standard colour profiles, compatible and tested on the printers used in our laboratory.
We therefore do not perform any colour calibration on your files.

In particular, in dye sublimation, colour fidelity problems may occur for the printing of:
– medium or large backgrounds
– fluorescent colours or particularly bright effects

Q&A

Are sublimation colours accurate?
Answer to the question from Emmanuel

Sometimes Iโ€™ve found that a black image, when printed using the sublimation technique, appears brown and with various different shades. Why does this happen?

First, itโ€™s worth remembering that sublimation printing tends to change the colours slightly, giving an almost magenta tone, so if the file isn’t completely black itโ€™s possible that this difference will be even more noticeable.
However, the shading that youโ€™ve witnessed is due to the fact that the press wasnโ€™t pressing on the entire design: to get an even print when sublimation printing on mugs, itโ€™s important to make sure that the press is applying pressure uniformly across the entire design.

In short, to transfer images onto ceramic mugs using the sublimation technique, the following steps should be taken:
Set the press to 195/200ยฐC for approximately 160/180 seconds.
To transfer the image onto the mug, we suggest using tape thatโ€™s resistant to high temperatures and placing it a few millimetres away (on either side) from where the image is due to go, this will help facilitate the pressing operation.

Apply medium/strong pressure.
Then peel the paper off, this can be done when itโ€™s either hot or cold.

I need to create some prints using sublimation and Iโ€™ve created the images in a CMYK file. Compared to the RGB format, the colours arenโ€™t as vivid. When I come to do the sublimation printing, will the colours be brighter or does this type of file always produce lighter colours?
Answer to the question from Andrea

Firstly, itโ€™s worth bearing in mind that sublimation prints which have just come out of the printer always look different to how they appear on the monitor. This is because, regardless of the usual differences you get between whatโ€™s displayed on screen and whatโ€™s printed on paper, freshly printed sublimation colours always tend to change colour slightly, giving an almost magenta tone, depending on the shade.

Itโ€™s always better to work in CMYK and then carry out some print tests before proceeding to the final print run.

The main difference between CMYK and RGB lies in the number of colours and the intensity of each colour tone. RGB colours are more vibrant, and the colour range is much wider.

CMYK colours, on the other hand, are more subtle and the colour range is narrower. This is the method thatโ€™s commonly used in colour printing.

Can I apply your sublimation print on aluminium foil with a heat press?
Answer to the question from Federico

Sublimation is used on water bottles, cylindrical mugs (the classic mugs), key rings, polyester t-shirts and only on white objects with a polyester-treated surface.
Only then is sublimation transfer possible.

Laser transfer paper for rigid surfaces is ideal for customising aluminium, metals in general, ceramics, plexiglass, rigid plastics and glass. Excellent for plaques and metal objects for sports awards, small signs and souvenirs.

The transfer of these papers takes place โ€˜hotโ€™, and a manual or pneumatic heat press and silicone mat are required.
Naturally, the substrate onto which the laser print is transferred must be flat.
